FDA
¥ The FDA issued draft guidance for records access authorized for cosmetics products.
¥ The FDA tested a series of nail polish removers for Methylene Chloride, which is banned, and found
high presence of it. Apparently all are from the same batch of product made.
NAD
¥ Facial Peel Claims Ð regarding claims about clinical level results, visibly brighter, smaller looking
pores, and results in as little as 5 minutes were confirmed by the company to NAD as
discontinued.
Recalls
¥ KidÕs oral use products Ð several products recalled by the FDA due to cGMP violation concerns.
California
¥ CalRecycle (SB 54) Ð withdrew the current draft for implementation to make updates. There is a 15
day comment period open till Feb. 13, 2026.
¥ SCP-New proposed priority product regulation Ð includes shampoos containing 1,4 Dioxane at
concentrations greater than 1 ppm. Comment period open till March 2, 2026.
New York
¥ Bill 8420A Ð New law enacted which requires advertisers to disclose use of AI for creation of
synthetic performers and digitally created media that appear to be real people.
New Jersey
¥ Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act (Bill S1042) Ð Signed into law on Jan. 12, 2026 ban PFAs
intentionally added in cosmetics (not soap). Comes into effect in January 2028.
EU
¥ The EU Cosmetics Regulation has been updated to ban 15 new ingredients to
be in line with the new CMR listings.. There were also two revions and two
deletions made to current listings.
