Raymond Sullivan-Bojorquez
What is your current role, and how did you first get involved
with CA SCC?
I'm currently the Co-Communications chair at the CA SCC. I
handle closely the LinkedIn and Instagram pages. My hope is
to exalt all the hard work our California chapter does on a
weekly basis, so the rest of the industry can see how much
effort we put into our community!
How long have you been working in the cosmetic and
personal care industry?
I've been a part of the personal care industry for over 3000
days (that's over 8 years, for anyone who doesn't like math).
Now I work for the Lucas Meyer Cosmetics team, by Clariant
for a little under a year and I am so excited for a long career
ahead!
What originally drew you to cosmetic science?
One of my favorite children9s books growing up was The Ugly
Duckling, the story of a gray duck who never quite fits in
among yellow ducks, only to later realize it was a swan all
along. Growing up in five different countries, I often felt like
that gray duck, out of place and searching for where I
belonged. Those experiences shaped me and sparked a
lifelong desire to help others feel seen, supported, and
confident enough to grow into who they are meant to be.
Then one day, I attended my first CA SCC event, and I met a
community of welcoming, kind individuals who helped me
find my footing in this industry.
What does being on the CA SCC Board mean to you?
t's an honor, a responsibility, and the most rewarding
experience. Right now, it feels like leaning into our community
is more important than ever.
