MESSAGE FROM
The Chair
The dog days of summer have come to a close and fall is upon us. I hope you Ñ our wonderful
CASCC members Ñ were able to take a well-deserved vacation, or a staycation at one of our
beautiful coastal beaches or up in the mountains.
The Driver household was busier than ever this summer, as we welcomed a baby boy to the family
back in May. That kept me from our beloved (and sold-out) Malibu meeting with Professor Squires
this year, but by every account I heard, it was a hit.
In June, our industry gathered aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach for our annual Dinner Dance.
Many of you dressed for the Alice in Wonderland theme, and we dined and danced the night away
in that historic venue. My thanks to Saskia Piscaer of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics for planning the
evening, and to our sponsors, whose support made the night possible for our members and guests.
Our Chair-Elect, Stephanie Facuri of Solabia, hosted a summer event at the Gourmandise School in
Santa Monica. I was surprised to see how many of our attendees already knew their way around a
fine Italian meal Ñ I now have a real appreciation and respect for hand-rolled gnocchi. After a solid
team effort, we enjoyed the fruits of our labor over good food, good conversation, and plenty of
laughs.
Fall, in my opinion, is the best time of the year. We have momentum heading into the holiday
season and a great deal to look forward to. Having spent my first couple of years in Greater Los
Angeles as a Pasadena resident, I am especially glad to be heading back there for our Scientific
Seminar on September 22nd. On October 6th, we co-host our annual Golf Outing with the SCIFTS
and AACT at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress Ñ thank you, Cat Hoang! On November 17th, we close
out our educational programming for the year at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, a first for
our chapter, and I look forward to giving our members and guests a beautiful new venue right near
the sand for networking and education. Finally, we invite the entire industry to DTLA for SCC80, a
celebration of pioneering speakers, awards, the showcase, and the best networking our industry
has to offer.
I am thrilled to be a part of this journey with you as we forge toward the end of 2026.
