Sea salt became another major player in beauty history. Long before fancy exfoliating treatments
arrived in elegant jars, people were scrubbing themselves with salt crystals and emerging feeling
dramatically cleaner.
Salt had several advantages:
¥ It was plentiful.
¥ It was inexpensive.
¥ It removed dead skin cells.
¥ It occasionally reminded users they had cuts they didn't know about.
Nevertheless, salt remained popular because it delivered visible results.
Pearls became associated with beauty and elegance in numerous cultures. Ground pearl powders
appeared in traditional beauty practices and were valued for their refined image.
Let's be honest: even today, "contains pearl extract" sounds considerably more glamorous than
"contains fishy smelling seaweed.Ó
As beauty science advanced, researchers began exploring oils derived from marine sources. Fish
oils, rich in beneficial fatty acids, attracted attention for their moisturizing and conditioning
properties.
